The Asset Library
To address the problem of data consistency and integrity, Akumen encourages the use of an Asset Library. The Asset Library acts as a single source of truth. It is a staging area for all the fixed values across the business.
An Asset is any “concept” in the business. These could be physical assets like infrastructure or equipment, or intangible assets like bank accounts, loans or rent.
There are two main areas of the Asset Library as seen in the image below.
- Side Panel - This allows you to manage asset templates and add them to the Master View as well as create and manage different views of your Assets. It has two tabs: CREATE and VIEWS.
- CREATE - Allows the user to create an asset based on a predefined template, which includes a default image and related attributes.
- VIEWS - Allows the user to create customized “views” of the asset library, such as a small portion of the Master view in hierarchical format, or a “flow” view representing an entire supply chain.
- Asset Structure – This is the main work area where assets can be dragged and dropped onto a design surface.
